A Special Announcement From Oxford Christian School!
January 4, 2021
Dear Homeschool Families,
After much prayer and discussion, Renae and I have come to the decision that it is time to close Oxford Christian School. This current year (2020-2021) will be our last. We will not be registering students for the 2021-2022 school year.
We know that this decision affects several families and students and are especially aware of the effects on next year’s senior class. This made our decision very difficult. Our reason for making the announcement now is to give you time before classes begin in the fall to make arrangements for another church school covering or look at other options.
What this does not mean is that we are going to disappear the minute the graduation ceremony is over. We will still be available to make sure this year’s seniors have everything they need to get into college or whatever their future endeavors entail. We will also be available to provide transcripts for each student so that the transition to their next school goes as smooth as possible. Once this is accomplished we plan to maintain a website with current contact information so that we can provide transcripts for students in the years to come.
Renae and I have been involved with the homeschool community since 1988. It has been a huge part of our lives. We spent 23 years homeschooling our five children from kindergarten through graduation. Since 1996 we have helped close to fifteen hundred students with their homeschool administration needs. With this year’s graduating class we will have had the joy of seeing 400 students earn their high school diploma through Oxford Christian School. Seriously, letting go is not easy.
We thank you for trusting us with the administration of your student’s education. Our children are treasures and we have always taken seriously the task with which you entrusted us. It has always been our commitment to operate OCS with integrity and to treat each parent and student with dignity and respect. We pray that your experience with Oxford Christian School has been evidence of that commitment. May God richly bless you in the coming days.
